Navigators class
Welcome to Navigators
The Navigators staff team support our oldest pupils in our Primary department. The staff who work in Navigators are, Teacher - Mrs Fitzgerald and TAs - Mrs Curtis. Mr Hayes, Mrs McMahon and Mr Quayle also work in Navigators.
In Navigators we are a mature and hard-working class. In year 6 we ensure that all our pupils receive a purposeful learning experience, developing skills and knowledge through our creative curriculum. During the year we will be reading books by a variety of authors, exploring different genres and celebrating the diversity of the work. It is our intention to immerse pupils in the wonders of quality texts to instil a love for reading, a passion for discovery and a confidence to explore their imagination.
Mathematical knowledge and skills will be developed though practical and real-life experiences, encouraging children to use reasoning and problem-solving skills. Meaningful learning will take place through visits, visitors and the use of technology. Our engaging activities in all curriculum areas will enable children to develop further independence, cooperation and resilience, ready for their move up to Year 7. There will be a wide range of different excursions, opportunities and sporting events for our children to take part in. We believe that this is a vital area in which children can flourish and develop self-awareness and independence.
